Initially, I had some interesting ideas in mind, like crafting a humanoid body with a floating skull. As I further explored this concept, I began pondering how to incorporate a touch of uniqueness while maintaining an organic feel. That’s when the idea of a single eye on the skull struck me, and I found it quite fascinating.
Defining Skelly
As I delved deeper into the concept, I began brainstorming ways to make Skelly’s design more efficient and easy to animate. That’s when I thought about incorporating floating and interchangeable pieces.
This design choice could add a visually appealing element but also opened up to me endless possibilities for Nio’s abilities. It’s exciting to explore and expand upon these ideas, pushing the boundaries of what Skelly and Nio can do together.
Nio’s power
The guardian eye that rolls with Skelly, Nio, can totally adapt to different weapons and level up its skills. It can also absorb the power of other weapons and add them to its spectral gelatinous arm.
The Game Manual
My first video game was Super Mario 64. I remember flipping through the manual repeatedly, discovering all the incredible abilities that Mario could perform. I truly miss those days when game boxes contained a disk or cartridge, accompanied by those amazing manuals. That’s why I wanted to explore that nostalgic feeling.
Exploring the world
These pieces are some of the early explorations of the universe that is still in development. I wanted to evoke the sensation of a vast yet silent world, where you would suddenly come across secret areas that ignite curiosity, or perhaps encounter a mini-boss lying in wait.
